Homemade Prom Necklace
To make a necklace for prom you will need beading wire, two crimp beads, one lobster claw clasp with tab, about sixty to seventy glass beads in colors that will complement your dress, wire cutters and crimping pliers.
The first thing you will do is figure out exactly how long you want your prom necklace to be. You can wear it as a choker or a little longer. Remember to consider the neckline of your dress and the look you are trying to achieve.
After you cut the wire to the length that you want you should attach the clasp to the beading wire by using you crimp bead on one end of the wire. You will then put the beads on the wire in the pattern that you are happiest with. You can alternate colors if you will be using different colors. When you have put beads onto the wire to the length of the necklace you will attach the other clasp tab to the wire by using the crimp bead. You will then cut any excess wire as close as possible.

You can also make a pair of earring to match you prom necklace by using the same color beads from the necklace, six headpins, two 5mm jumprings, and two ear wires. You will also need to use the wire cutters and crimping pliers to make the earrings. The earrings will have three beads hanging from each earring so you should decide how you want the finished earring to look.
You will first bead each headpin with one of the beads,Stud Earrings, then lop wan wrap them. Then put the beaded headpins on the jumpring in the order of the pattern you have decided on. After you have done this you can attach the jumpring to the earwires.
These are two easy ways to make prom yourself and save some money. Remember to be creative with your colors and patterns in your necklace and earrings, but you can always go with classic black for a sophisticated look.
